The Youth Energy Labs (YEL) project aims to promote environmental sustainability in Europe by training young people, professionals, and their families on renewable energy, circular economy, self-consumption, and sustainable entrepreneurship.​

Objectives of the project:

  • Adopt sustainable consumption models in their communities.

  • Develop innovative entrepreneurial initiatives in the field of renewable energy and circular economy.

  • Promote awareness of the importance of environmental sustainability and the fight against climate change.

​

Project activities:

  1. Development of a training module for professionals working with young people on environmental sustainability, renewable energy, and responsible consumption issues.

  2. Creation of a "Youth Energy Labs Guide" providing step-by-step instructions for designing and implementing sustainable initiatives at the local level.

  3. Implementation of "Youth Energy Labs" in four European countries: Spain, Greece, Latvia, and Italy.

  4. Launch of an awareness campaign to inform the public about the importance of renewable energy and the circular economy.

  5. Creation of a website and social media channels to share project resources and the success stories of young participants.

Methodology:

  • Theoretical and practical training for the young people and professionals involved.

  • Experiential learning through the implementation of concrete projects in the Youth Energy Labs.

  • Active involvement of all stakeholders, from young people to local institutions.

 

Results of the project: 

  1. Increased awareness of the importance of environmental sustainability among young people and the general public.

  2. Development of skills and knowledge in renewable energy, circular economy, and sustainable entrepreneurship among young people.

  3. Implementation of concrete and innovative initiatives that favour the transition towards a more sustainable development model.
